Repeat Performance: The Alumni Perspective

The Jordan Family

Perhaps it was not getting enough of a good thing, or the desire for a repeat performance that drew Rebecca Jordan ’03, along with her husband, Hampton, and their daughters to Hammond. Whatever the reason, the Jordans are happily ensconced at Hammond where Rebecca is a middle school faculty member and Elizabeth Ann and Caroline are proud Skyhawks.

According to Rebecca, “We chose Hammond because I had a wonderful experience here from 6th through 12th grade. Being an alumna has provided amazing opportunities for us all. I have always wanted my daughters to have the same amazing experience I did.” This community is truly a family. We look after one another.”

Experiencing the lower school fire from both faculty and parent perspectives was something unique. “Watching Hammond rally after the fire and missing only one day of class in the lower school was indescribable. We all learned lessons from the experience, particularly resolve in the face of difficult circumstances,” notes Rebecca.

As Rebecca reflects on her years at Hammond, she fondly remembers attending football games and the energy and enthusiasm that accompany Friday night lights. “I have countless memories of watching the games with excitement, being with friends, and sharing in the Hammond community.
