Welcome to Hawk Ridge Camp at Hammond!  We're thrilled about all of the fun summer plans we have this year!  Campers will have the exciting opportunity to engage in field trips across the state as well as fun, hands-on experiences on campus, while making friends and memories that will last a lifetime.  They will also participate in enrichment programs twice a week, including yoga, tennis, dance, theatre, and more!

We are committed to providing enriching, and memorable experiences while keeping the safety and development of your child our top priority.  We look forward to welcoming new and old members of our community as we enjoy a summer your children will never forget! About the Camp

Hammond’s Hawk Ridge Camp is designed to provide campers from 3 years old to rising 6th graders with a summer full of fun, age-appropriate activities, and a variety of hands-on enrichment opportunities while building self-esteem through positive interactions. Campers are divided into three age groups: 3 – 4 years old, rising 5K – 1 grades, and rising 2 – 6 grades. Each camper will have the opportunity to experience a variety of field trips and field studies as well as music, theatre, art, sports, outdoor adventures, and much more! Camp activities are carefully organized according to age group, are planned in advance, and provide hands-on interactive learning in a stimulating and safe environment. This program is designed to provide an opportunity in which campers can have fun, learn, relax, thrive, smile, laugh, make new friends, and make great memories at Hammond!

Hawk Ridge By the Week

Campers are invited to join us for just one week or for the entire eight weeks. The weeks do not need to be consecutive. Please remember that Hammond Summer Programs will be closed July 2 - 6, 2018.

  • Week 1: June 4 – 8: Wild Wild West - Wanted! All cowboys and cowgirls ... put on your boots and mosey on down to Hawk Ridge Camp for a week of fun games, crafts, and exciting adventures.
  • Week 2: June 11 – 15: Buggin' Out - Attention all explorers! You won't BEE-lieve how much fun we'll have as we venture through the animal kingdom and investigate the world around us.
  • Week 3: June 18 – 22: Splish Splash Bash - Fish out of water! Break out your swimsuit for our first Hawk Ridge water week. Across our campus we will swim, splash, and slide our way through summer.
  • Week 4: June 25 – 29: Passport to Fun - Explore, Discover, Learn! Your week's journey will be full of enriching activities, enjoyable places, and lasting memories, filling up our passports all along the way.
All Summer Programs Closed: July 2– 6

  • Week 5: July 9 – 13: Under the Big Top - Children of all ages! Come clown around with us as we explore every part of the circus. Our campers will be the main attraction as we make Hawk Ridge the greatest camp on Earth.
  • Week 6: July 16 – 20: Wacky and Wonderful - Let's get crazy! This week we will let our silly side shine as we make kooky crafts, play goofy games, and make marvelous memories. 
  • Week 7: July 23 – 27: Barnyard Palooza - From tails to tales! After this week that is all about animals, you will leave with so many wonderful stories to tell.
  • Week 8: July 30 – August 3: Tropical Paradise - Aloha! Join us for the perfect way to say goodbye to summer -- lots of water, sun, and fun.

  • Summer Apparel

    Each participant registered to attend Hawk Ridge Camp will receive one FREE 2018 Summer Programs t-shirt. Every camper attending Hawk Ridge Camp is required to own at least one 2018 Summer Programs t-shirt.  However, it is recommended that each Hawk Ridge Camper own at least two Summer Programs t-shirts. Families may purchase 2018 Summer Programs t-shirts while supplies last. Campers are required to wear their Summer Programs t-shirt on days that a field trip is scheduled. Every Hawk Ridge Camper will also receive one FREE Summer Programs water bottle. Campers are encouraged to leave their water bottle at camp to ensure they have one each day.   • Camp Communication

    Each week families will receive electronic communication that will provide updates, activity plans, reminders, and information regarding the upcoming week of Hawk Ridge Camp events and activities. It is important for families to list an email address in their online registration account that is checked regularly.  Please be sure to follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page as we will be posting pictures and short video clips of campers daily, as well as the latest updates, reminders, and important information.
  • Dismissal Procedures

    Campers registered for half-day camp from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM will be escorted to carpool for pick-up at 1:00 PM.  Campers registered for full-day camp but not registered to attend our After-Extended Camp Program beginning at 4:00 PM will be escorted to carpool for pick-up. Carpool for Hawk Ridge Campers is located in front of the Lower School Gym. Campers that have not been picked-up by 4:10 PM will be escorted to the After-Extended Camp Program and charged accordingly.

  • Swim Lessons

    NEW THIS SUMMER! Hawk Ridge campers are provided the option to add Swim Lessons to their registration for an additional fee. Campers that choose to add this option will be transported to a nearby pool and supervised at all times by our Camp Counselors. Water Safety Instructors will be teaching the swim lessons. The instructor to camper ratio is 1:4. Swim lessons will be offered Monday-Thursday, from 1:00 PM – 1:30 PM. If you have any questions, please contact the Auxiliary Programs Office at 803.726.6413.
  • Dress-Up Days

    • June 6 – Dress like a cowboy or cowgirl
    • June 13 – Dress like an explorer
    • June 20, 21, and 22 – Wear your swim suit
    • June 27 – Dress like a tourist
    • July 11 – Dress colorful
    • July 18 – Dress tacky
    • July 25 – Dress like a farmer
    • August 1 and 3 – Wear your swim suit
  • WOW! Wednesday Activities

    WOW! Wednesday activities are normally scheduled every Wednesday with all Hawk Ridge Campers from 3:30 PM – 4:00 PM unless otherwise indicated below.
    • June 6 – Line Dancing: Campers will be dancing deep in the heart of Texas as they gather for some line dancing with Hammond’s very own Mrs. Anne Fowler!
    • June 13 – Buggin’ Out: Nothing beats the passion and enthusiasm Hammond’s Biology teacher Mr. Michael Rice brings to the field! Campers will surely be wowed by everything he has to share!
    • June 20 – Water Balloon Toss and More: Catch!  Campers will cool down this afternoon with a water balloon toss sure to be enjoyed by all!
    • June 27 – Hawk Ridge Got Talent Show: Campers will voluntarily perform a special talent individually or with a small group.
    • July 11 – Sam the Dog Trainer: Campers will enjoy a visit from Sam the Dog Trainer and his fury friends!
    • July 18 – Balloon FUN: Balloons galore! Kick them, hit them, play catch, but do not pop them!  Everyone loves a good balloon party!  How long can you keep yours in the air?
    • July 25 – Egg Relay Race: There is nothing like a good old-fashioned egg race to get kids cheering on teammates and incite a little friendly competition.
    • August 1 – Popsicle Cool Down: What better way to spend our final WOW! Wednesday than enjoying a cold Popsicle treat!
  • FUN Friday Activities

    • June 8 – Ken Treadway Rodeo in Laurens, SC: Giddy Up!  Campers will experience a professional rodeo show!  This exciting adventure features horses, cowboys, and more! 
    • June 15 – Groups B & C only – Saluda Shoals in Columbia, SC: Campers will venture off to Saluda Shoals to explore the great outdoors through a guided nature program! Campers will begin to load the bus at 9:15 AM and will return to Hammond by 3:00 PM.
      Group D only Sesquicentennial Park in Columbia, SC: Campers will venture off to the Sesquicentennial Park to explore the great outdoors and insects. Campers will begin to load the bus at 9:15 AM and will return to Hammond by 3:00 PM.
    • June 22 – Friend Day at Saluda Shoals Splash Pad: Campers will cool down at the Saluda Shoals Splash Pad.  Friends are welcome to join Hawk Ridge campers for the day of pizza, water works, and fun in the sun! Friends must register through our online registration database to attend (cost is $25 per friend) and should arrive to Hammond at 9:00 AM. Campers and their friends will load the buses at 9:15 AM and will return to Hammond by 3:00 PM.
    • June 29 – Petro Bowling Alley in Columbia, SC:  Strike! Campers will visit Columbia’s newest and nicest bowling alley!  We will spend the day working on our strikes, spares, and splits. Campers will load the buses at 9:15 AM and will return to Hammond by 12:30 PM.
    • July 13 – Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC: Campers will go on a wild adventure as they spend the day with different species of animals from all over the world. Campers will begin to load the buses at 9:15 AM and will return to Hammond by 3:45 PM.
    • July 20 – Topiary Garden in Bishopville, SC: Campers will explore the beautiful Pearl Fryar Garden! What will we find in this garden full of fun sculptures and beautiful designs?  Campers will begin to load the buses at 9:15 AM and will return to Hammond by 3:45 PM.
    • July 27 – Bee City in Cottageville, SC: We will end this week by Buzzing out to Bee City! Campers will get to enjoy a hands-on zoo experience and learn about the importance of honeybees!  Campers will begin to load the buses at 9:15 AM and will return to Hammond by 3:45 PM.
    • August 3 – End of Summer Bash: The best way to enjoy our last day of Hawk Ridge Camp is to end with a BANG!  We will celebrate summer with treats, sunshine, and lots of water fun from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
    NOTE: The three year olds – rising PK campers will be going to the Saluda Shoals Splash Pad every Friday for their Fun Friday activity (except on August 3 when they will participate in the End of Summer Bash on campus).
  • Enrichment Opportunities

    Each week campers will have the opportunity to participate in an already scheduled enrichment activity on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. Some of the enrichment activities are All Sports, Creative Kids, Cooking, Football, Dance, and much more!
  • Hawk Ridge Activity Plans

    Hawk Ridge Camp activity plans for each group will be provided to families registered to attend.  Please note that activity plans may change at anytime.  Families registered to attend will receive electronic communication one or two days prior to the start of camp to provide reminders, and any updates regarding the Hawk Ridge events and activities planned.
  • Caught in the Act

    Dive into the fundamentals of play production! Campers engage in the play process, which inspires creative thinking, promotes problem-solving, fosters imaginative play, encourages teamwork, and builds confidence in public performance.

    Families and friends are invited to attend both performances this summer free of charge!  We provide families and friends unable to attend these performances in person with the ability to watch it live, or later “On Demand” through Hammond’s HawkVision.     Performance Date: Thursday, August 2, 2018 in the Bank of America Theatre at 5:00 PM; doors open at 4:30 PM.


  • Full-Day Camp:  9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Half-Day Camp (two options available):  9:00 AM – 1:00 PM and 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
  • Extended Camp Program (two options available): 7:50 AM – 8:50 AM* and 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
*Hawk Ridge campers registered for 5 full-days of Hawk Ridge Camp may attend from 7:50 AM – 8:50 AM free of charge. Campers registered for half-day or daily (not the full week) Hawk Ridge Camp OR in one of our other summer programs may attend but will be charged an hourly rate of $9 for using this service.

Late Pick-Up Rate: Please note all campers must be picked up by 6:00 PM.  A late fee of $25.00 per 15 minutes will be charged for pick up after 6:00 PM.

Campers may be dropped off early or picked up late with our Extended Camp Program option for an additional fee (refer to the
 Hammond Summer Programs Handbook for details located under "downloads on this page).


Campers may register to attend Hawk Ridge for only one day or up to five days in one week.

  • Full-Day Camp: $185 per week
  • By the Day: $50 per day
  • Half-Day Camp (9:00 AM – 1:00 PM or 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM): $100 per week
Campers registered for half-day camp who decide to stay after their pick-up time will be charged $10 an hour until 4:00 PM.
