The anxiously anticipated, new Lower School playground opened on August 13 to the excitement of over 200 Lower School students, parents, faculty, and friends of Hammond. A component of the 50 Forward Campaign, the state-of-the-art playground boasts climbing towers, zip lines, swings, and equipment designed to foster discovery, team building, exercise, and free play. The nature-inspired addition to the Lower School provides an added dimension for young learners. Head of Lower School Helen Kiser and Headmaster Chris Angel officially cut the ribbon, heralding the start of school and a celebration and thank-you for those who helped make the dream a reality.
