Alumni Spotlight: Robert Simmons '09

A great smile will only take you so far, but Robert Simmon’s signature grin is his own personal calling card, and it is one that has served him well … both personally and professionally. In a business that relies on athletic talent and interpersonal relationship skills, a bright smile sets the stage for success.
Robert Simmons ’09 recently opened Results Fitness where he not only owns the business but serves as Head Fitness Professional. Building his company on core principles he learned while at Hammond, the value of community and the life-changing benefits of health and wellness, Robert is quick to credit his school experience. “Hammond helped me excel in athletics, academics, and be active in the community. Having the opportunity to play sports, combined with teachers who truly want you to be the best academically, is what makes Hammond a special place.”
The Hammond experience helped Robert develop the self-assurance needed to pursue his passion and parlay that into a business. “Throughout my years at Hammond, I was able to overcome my fear of Public Speaking. This tremendously helped me in my career. Whether a large audience or one client, the confidence I gained at Hammond enables me to fearlessly stand in front of clients and encourage them to be their best. Dr. Ragan, in particular, took an interest in me and helped me improve my writing skills. With time and patience, he also helped expand my knowledge through reading comprehension and complex writing.”
It comes as no surprise that among senior class superlatives, Robert was voted “Best Smile”. That same award-winning smile greets clients each day as they walk through the door of Results Fitness. “I’m excited to share my unique training style with the community and help people reach their goals and obtain the results they’re looking for. Not only do I want to create an environment for young trainers to learn and grow, but I also want to be a mentor to the youth and instill positive health and wellness routines in their minds.”
We at Hammond are smiling too.
