Military Families

Columbia has been home to many military families during their time at Fort Jackson, Shaw Air Force Base, and McEntire Joint National Guard. Hammond welcomes military families during their time in Columbia and understands the transitional military lifestyle. We have been fortunate to be involved with Fort Jackson through other opportunities including choral performances by our auditioned choir at the National Day of Prayer Breakfast and guest speakers at Upper School assemblies.

Realizing that your family’s living experience in the Columbia area is unique, we have created this list of Frequently Asked Questions to address many of the concerns you may have as a military family. If you have additional questions, please contact the Admission Office at (803) 695-4018. If you are a military family, please let us know. We want to warmly welcome those who are in service to our country.

List of 8 frequently asked questions.

  • Q: Is there an application deadline and are mid-year transfers accepted?

We understand that you may relocate to our area during the current school year. We are flexible and work with families provided there are openings in the grade level your child is entering. Please contact us so we can help you complete the application process.
  • Q: How do I begin the application process?

Please call so that we can send you an Admission packet and discuss the possibility of you visiting the school with your child. There are other options, such as Skype, FaceTime, and Zoom if you are unable to visit onsite before moving. You will need to submit an application with a $75 fee that can be completed online. We also require transcripts, teacher recommendations and any standardized testing results. Middle School and Upper School students need to answer the essay question provided on the application.
