Right in the Middle of Things

September 15, 2026

Greetings Middle School Families,

As we enter the latter half of the first quarter, I want to highlight some changes and opportunities that we have for student recognition.  Each week in our Middle School assembly, we will recognize students who exemplify the attributes of a Skyhawk, commended by their teachers and fellow students.  Mr. Mack will present them with a Skyhawk Chip of Excellence.  Also, we will be recognizing our Distinguished List differently this year.  Students earning all As for the quarters will be recognized by teachers in class meetings with their peers. We will take pictures of stellar Skyhawks and email the pictures to parents.  We are grateful for these community building moments celebrating exemplary scholarship and character.

MS Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences October 5

Middle School Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences will be held October 5, and there will be no school for students that day. Students are encouraged to attend conferences with their parents for a more meaningful conversation about their progress.

Before scheduling, please review the teacher comments included with your student’s first-quarter interim. If you feel a conference is not needed, there is no need to schedule one; teachers are always happy to connect with parents throughout the year.

Please use the button below to select the teacher(s) you would like to meet with.

Schedule Conference(s)

MS Math Teams

The Math Team will continue practicing on Friday of this week at 7:15am. All mathletes should report to Mr. R's classroom (IC 201) before splitting into the Red and Blue teams. Math Team practices are open to any middle schooler who enjoys challenging math tasks and looks forward to competing in future math competitions. If you have any questions, please email Lou Boeschen.

MS Absences, Drop-offs, and Parking

  • If your student is going to be absent, late, or early dismissed, please email the Middle School office at msofficeadmin@hammondschool.org
  • If you need to drop something off to your student, drop it off in the MS office.  Students can stop by between classes to pick up their items.
  • Please do not park in a designated faculty spot from 7:30AM through the end of the school day.  Visitor spots are delineated by the Hammond Circle H logo.
