The Middle of the Journey is on the Edge of Discovery.
Middle School at Hammond is anything but middle of the road. It's where curiosity deepens, confidence expands, and students take the next bold step toward who they're becoming. We see these years not as a pause, but as a launch--where students move from grounded to fearless, from guided to self-driven, from spark to stride.
Fifth grade marks the beginning of this exciting chapter. Students begin rotating classes with subject-area teachers and take on more responsibility as they navigate a schedule built just for them. Sixth graders step into athletics, seventh graders dive into full-time world language, and eighth graders rise to new heights with honors level coursework, JV and Varsity sports, and student leadership.
Our Middle School faculty are at the heart of it all—teaching, coaching, mentoring, and cheering students on in every arena. You’ll find them in classrooms, on fields, backstage, and on the sidelines—showing up where it matters most, in the middle.
Middle Schoolers are explorers at heart. They test ideas, try new roles, and take their first real steps into global perspectives. As they grow, they gain the skills, mindset, and momentum to move forward with confidence—ready for what comes next and inspired by what’s already begun.
