Wonder Lab
Where younger imaginations soar.
Our Wonder Lab really is a wonder to behold. Designed for students in pre-kindergarten through fourth grade, this creative space invites young minds to explore, build, and bring ideas to life. Guided by our Maker Space instructor, students use a mix of high-tech and low-tech tools to tackle design-based projects that spark imagination, problem-solving, and hands-on learning.
A few of the activities that occur in the Wonder Lab:
- Brainstorming, creative visioning
- Learning how to work in a shared, collaborative space (take out, put away, safety protocols)
- Sewing – from basic weaving to cutting patterns and sewing with machines
- Woodworking – drawing plans, cutting, sawing, joining, building, cleaning up
- Audio-Visual Production – tudents will use technology to explore recording and editing audio, filming, and creating stop-motion animation—all while learning how to harness the power of social media to make a positive impact.
- Digital Production - screenings of original photos, short films and videos
- Prototyping to 3D printing
- Electronics, circuits, programming, coding
- Tinkering – take apart, deconstruct, reconstruct, redesign, re-imagine
- Creative Collaboration – working together
In today’s fast-paced, screen-based society, tinkering puts your mind and attention exactly where your feet and hands are. We teach collaboration because we know the biggest breakthroughs happen with a collective vision.
WHEN WE COME TOGETHER WE CAN ACHIEVE WONDEROUS THINGS.
