Libraries

Hammond libraries: real page-turners.

We're proud to boast two libraries that help encourage a love of learning and the enjoyment of reading.

CHAPTER ONE: LOWER SCHOOL WALKER LIBRARY

Tucked into the Pioneer Village at our Lower School, the Walker Library is a favorite hangout for our youngest learners from pre-kindergarten through fourth grade.

Each week, classes drop by to dive into new topics, pick out books, and get hands-on with fun activities that fuel their curiosity and imagination. It's not unusual to see a puppet show or catch a cozy read-aloud in progress. There's always something exciting happening.

And with teacher permission, students can pop in anytime during the day to discover their next great read!

THE PLOT THICKENS: MIDDLE AND UPPER SCHOOL MANNING LIBRARY

At the heart of campus, the Manning Library is the go-to spot for middle and upper school students in grades five through twelve. Whether diving into research projects or grabbing a good book for fun, students find everything they need here. Middle school classes regularly visit to pick out books or explore topics, while upper schooler students rely on the library for in-depth research, free reading, and quiet study during their free periods or any time throughout the day. The doors are always open—before school, after school, or during the day with teacher permission.

WHEN WE COME TOGETHER WE CAN ACHIEVE WONDEROUS THINGS.

THIS IS HAMMOND THINKING AHEAD — The combination of our extensive programs, talented faculty, first class facilities, and sense of community. This is what helps us grow compassionate, articulate, and disciplined young people. — THIS IS HAMMOND.
