Athletics are a big part of life at Hammond—and for good reason. With 56 teams across middle school, JV, and varsity levels, there’s something for everyone, whether you're trying a sport for the first time or training to play in college. More than 93% of our middle and upper school students join a team, making athletics a shared experience that brings the school community together.
Our youngest Skyhawks burn off energy, build new skills, and practice teamwork during recess.
It all starts early. Our youngest Skyhawks build coordination, teamwork, and confidence through active play and recess. By sixth grade, students begin competing in interscholastic sports, with opportunities to grow into statewide competition through the South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA).
From football and golf to lacrosse, wrestling, and cheer (and just about everything in between), Skyhawks know what it takes to win—some play at the collegiate level, even earning national titles. But at the end of the day, it’s about more than the scoreboard. It’s about showing up, pushing yourself, and being part of something bigger.
