From our Country of Study program and Hammond Abroad summer experience to international arts performances, and juniors exploring Costa Rica through hands-on learning, our students don’t just study the world—they experience it.

Our signature Country of Study program reaches students across every grade and division, creating a truly global classroom experience.
Each year, one teacher from each division travels abroad to immerse themselves in the culture, language, and daily life of a selected country. They return with fresh insight and inspiration, weaving what they've learned into the curriculum—from classroom lessons to schoolwide events, and even into our arts programs.
Through this unique approach, Hammond students have explored the traditions of countries as diverse as Australia, Thailand, Norway, and Turkey—all without ever leaving campus. And by the time our pre-kindergarteners graduate, they will have experienced the richness of fourteen different cultures and just as many languages.
