College Counseling

• 9th Grade College Counseling Kickoff Night – 9^th grade Parents and students, please join us next Tuesday, September 22^nd from 6:30pm – 7:30pm in the Bank of America Theater for our annual College Counseling Kickoff event where our team will discuss what college preparation should look like for you at this stage in your high school career. The main purpose of these events is to guide you through what we believe are the most important steps to take as a freshman to increase your college options in the future. This meeting is mandatory for all students and at least one parent.

 Paying for College – We are offering a special event for 11th and 12th Grade Parents called “Paying for College”. This event will take place on Monday, September 28th at 6:00 PM in the Lecture Hall. Topics include state lottery scholarships (HOPE, LIFE, Palmetto Fellows), scholarship search, financial aid procedures and applications, and more. Students are not required to attend, as this is traditionally a parent program.

US Military Academy West Point: You are invited to a Columbia Admissions Information event for the United States Military Academy on Thursday, Sept. 17^th at 7:00pm at Cardinal Newman School. This is a unique opportunity to learn more about West Point, life as a Cadet, and their application process. Clemson Honors on the Road: Thursday, September 17^th here at Hammond School at 6:30pm in the Bank of America Theater. Register via the link below to join Clemson Honors on the Road to hear how they help students create their own ideal education through innovative and interdisciplinary learning opportunities on campus, across America, and around the world. They will discuss the many benefits of the Clemson Honors student experience, as well as Honors-specific application and admission information. Note: this session is designed for students specifically interested in the Honors College. Information covered will focus on Honors admission, not general Clemson University admission information.

Clemson Career Workshop: Sophomores ONLY - Please join us on Monday, Sept. 21^st at 12:00pm in the Lecture Hall for a special Rep Visit with Dr. Christian Barrientos from the Clemson Career Workshop. Dr. Barrientos will be telling sophomores all about this exciting program that allows students to gain early exposure to Clemson, explore majors and career pathways, and prepare for the admissions process. Any sophomore student with interest in Clemson University is encouraged to attend.

Discover SCAD Information Session: If you are interested in learning all there is to know about SCAD: Savannah College of Art & Design, you are invited to register for their information session that is being held on Saturday, October 24^th from 10:00am – 12:00pm at the Hotel Bennett in Charleston, SC.
