Moderator: Nicki Hood ’08 graduated from Hammond in 2008 and is an active member of the Alumni Council. She furthered her education at the University of South Carolina and graduated in 2012 with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication and a minor in Political Science. Mrs. Hood is now the Executive Director of Ambassador Nikki Haley’s non-profit the Original Six Foundation. She is married to alumnus Austin Hood ’08 and they have two future Skyhawks! 
 
  • Fred Allen: Mr. Allen is a current Skyhawk parent to Charlie ’25 and former Skyhawk Chalmers ’18. He graduated from American University in Washington, DC in 1976. He spent 10 years as a professional in the consulting field before building his successful state government lobbying firm. Mr. Allen is the Owner and Lobbyist at Fred Allen and Associates in the SC Capitol. 

  • Jeff Armstrong: Mr. Armstrong worked closely with Dr. Michael Turner’s wife at Family Promise. He received his B.A. in Social Sciences from University of Arizona Global Campus in 2010 and furthered his education at Walden University, graduating with a Master of Public Administration in Nonprofit Management and Leadership in 2017. Mr. Armstrong is the Executive Director at Family Promise of the Midlands.

  • Beth Bernstein: Mrs. Bernstein is a current Hammond parent to Caroline ’22 and Isabel ’26. She earned her BA in Psychology from the University of Georgia in 1991 and shortly after graduated from University of South Carolina School of Law where she received her J.D. in 1994. Mrs. Bernstein is an Attorney and Partner at Bernstein and Bernstein, Attorneys at Law. She is also a member of the SC House of Representatives. 

  • Bailey Dukes ’13: Ms. Dukes graduated from Hammond School in 2013 and is an active member of the Alumni Council. She received a B.S. in Economics from Clemson University in 2017 and furthered her education at University of South Carolina School of Law and graduated in 2020. Ms. Dukes is an Attorney at The Dukes Law Firm, LLC. in Columbia, SC.

  • Lee Patterson ’03: Mrs. Patterson graduated from Hammond School in 2003. She graduated from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2007 with a B.S. in Non-Profit/ Public/ Organizational Management and continued her education at University of South Carolina and graduated with a Master of Social Work in 2012. Mrs. Patterson is the Social Work Director at Richland Library.

  • Phillips McWilliams ‘01: Mr. McWilliams graduated Hammond in 2001 and is a Skyhawk parent to Phillips ’33 and Reagan ‘35. He attended the University of South Carolina and graduated in 2006 with a B.A. in History, English, and Military Science. He continued his education at USC Law and received his J.D. in 2014 graduating Cum Laude. Mr. McWilliams is an Attorney at Fisher Phillips. He was named to Columbia Business Monthly’s Legal Elite of the Midlands in 2021.

Business
 
Moderator: Walker Inabinet, Jr. ’08 graduated from Hammond in 2008. He furthered his education at the University of South Carolina and received his bachelor’s degree from University of South Carolina in 2012. Mr. Inabinet is a Wealth Management Advisor at Merrill Lynch.
 
  • Clare Cannon: Mrs. Cannon is a current Skyhawk parent to Elizabeth ’25 and Charles ’27. She graduated from College of Charleston Honors in 1996 and furthered her education at University of South Carolina Moore School of Business and received her MBA in 2000. Mrs. Cannon is an Executive Sales Representative at Eli Lilly. 

  • Michael Edens ’94: Mr. Edens graduated from Hammond in 1994. He received his B.A. in Finance from Wofford College in 1998 and furthered his education at Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University and graduated in 2007. Mr. Edens is the Senior Vice President at First Reliance Bank.

  • Austin Hood ’08: Mr. Hood graduated from Hammond in 2008 and is married to alumna, Nicki Hood ‘08. He graduated from the Citadel and majored in Political Science and National Defense Policy in 2012. Mr. Hood then received his J.D. from USC School of Law in 2016. He is a Project Manager, General Contractor at Hood Construction. You may recognize Mr. Hood as Hammond’s Head Wrestling Coach, too!

  • Becca Howser ’92: Ms. Howser graduated from Hammond School in 1992. She received a B.A. in Psychology from University of South Carolina in 1996 and furthered her education at AIU Atlanta and earned an AA in Interior Design in 2002. Ms. Howser is a Realtor at Home Advantage Realty, LLC. 

  • Virginia McMaster ’06: Mrs. McMaster graduated Hammond in 2006 and is an active member on the Alumni Council. She graduated from Sewanee: The University of the South in 2010 with a major in Economics. Mrs. McMaster is a Financial Advisor, Senior Vice President at Morgan Stanley in Columbia, SC.

  • Tim Nelson: Mr. Nelson is a current Skyhawk parent to Becca ’22. He graduated from Marist College in 1987 with a B.S. in Accounting and continued his education at New York University and earned his Master of Business Administration in Finance in 1999. Mr. Nelson is the Vice President of Finance at Hubbell Utility Solutions.

  • Robert Simmons ’09: Mr. Simmons graduated from Hammond in 2009. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Human Services from University of South Carolina in 2015. Mr. Simmons is the Owner and Head Fitness Professional at Results Fitness in Columbia, SC.


Communications/ Marketing/ Development
 
Moderator: Emily Bedenbaugh '01 graduated from Hammond in 2001 and is an active member on the Alumni Council. A Duke graduate, she received her B.A. in political science and a certificate in journalism policy and media studies from the DeWitt Wallace Center at the Terry Sanford School of Public Policy. Her professional background is in communications, public relations and reputation management. Mrs. Bedenbaugh is a current Skyhawk parent to Eloise '33.
 
  • Reba Campbell ’79: Mrs. Campbell is a 1979 Hammond graduate and active member of the Alumni Council. She graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1983. After 35+ years in PR journalism, politics, fundraising, management and government, she retired from the Municipal Association of SC in 2019. Mrs. Campbell now owns her own business, The Medway Group, that advises clients on messaging, strategic planning and relationship management. She also writes for several magazines and teaches at the Buckley School of Public Speaking.
       
  • Rivers Clarke ’17: Ms. Clarke graduated from Hammond in 2017. She continued her education at Wofford College and received a B.A. in English, Studio Art, Digital Media and Film in 2021. Ms. Clarke is the Marketing and Events Coordinator at The Rock It Co. in Charleston, SC.

  • Margaret Deans Grantz ’09: Mrs. Grantz graduated from Hammond in 2009 and is an active member of the Alumni Council. She received her B.A in Business Economics from Wofford College in 2013. She is the Co-Founder and Director of Development at Camp Cole.

  • Calhoun Kennedy ‘85: Mr. Kennedy graduated from Hammond in 1985. He continued his education at Wofford College and earned his B.A. in Business and Economics in 1989. Mr. Kennedy is the Interim Vice President for Advancement at Wofford College.

  • Anna Kate Twitty: Mrs. Twitty graduated from University of South Carolina in 2007 with a B.A. in Advertising and minor in Business Administration. She furthered her education at College of Charleston and graduated in 2010 with an MPA in Public Administration. Mrs. Twitty is the Director of Communication at Flock and Rally in Columbia, SC.

Medicine
 
Moderator: Ferris deTreville ’09 graduated from Hammond in 2009 and is an active member of the Alumni Council. She earned her degree from University of Alabama in 2013. Mrs. deTreville is the Account Manager at Delta Dental of South Carolina.
 
  • Tom Edmunds, Jr. ‘86: Dr. Edmunds graduated from Hammond in 1986 and is the current Skyhawk parent to Annie ’22 and former Skyhawk parent to Briggs ’19 and Tommy ’17. He graduated from Davidson College in 1990 and furthered his education at MUSC and received his MD in 2001. He also completed the Urology Residency Program at State University of New York. Dr. Edmunds is the Owner and Operator at Capital Urology in Columbia, SC. 

  • Anna Fuller: Dr. Fuller is a current Skyhawk parent to Gracie ’28 and Mary Elizabeth ’29. She graduated from MUSC College of Dental Medicine in 2007. Dr. Fuller is the Owner and Dentist at Anna Fuller DMD, LLC in Columbia, SC.

  • Mary Ellen Haile ’81: Ms. Haile graduated from Hammond School in 1981. She earned her BSN from Clemson University in 1985. Furthermore, she graduated from University of South Carolina and received a Master of Nursing in 1992. Ms. Haile is the Manager of Clinical Informatics at Prisma Health and the Owner of MEHaile Wellness Counseling.

  • Chandler Inabinet: Dr. Inabinet is married to alumnus Walker Inabinet ’08. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and graduated cum laude from University of South Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Inabinet works at Lexington Hospital and specializes in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

  • Jen Lutterbie: Mrs. Lutterbie is married to Mr. Lutterbie, Upper School Chemistry teacher, and they are the parents of current Skyhawks, Amelia ’32 and Rachel ’35. Mrs. Lutterbie graduated from Miami University in Ohio with a B.S. in Speech Pathology, followed by graduate school at the University of Virginia for a Master’s in Communication Sciences & Disorders in 2010. She is the Clinical Director and Speech-Language Pathologist at Team Therapy. 

  • William Otis ’87: Dr. Otis graduated from Hammond School in 1991 and is a current Skyhawk parent to Beau ’34 and Jack ’35. He then graduated from University of South Carolina in 1991 and received his MBA from University of South Carolina in 1993. Furthermore, he graduated from University of Georgia Veterinary School in 2004. Dr. Otis is an Owner and Veterinarian at Shandon-Wood Animal Hospital. He is also actively involved on the Hammond Alumni Council.

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
 
Moderator: Evin Moore ’14 graduated from Hammond in 2014 and earned her degree from Furman University in 2018 with a B.S. in Biology and minor in Science Education. Ms. Moore is the 8th grade science teacher and a volleyball coach at Hammond School.
 
  • Thomas Bristol: Mr. Bristol is a current Skyhawk parent to Ewan ’26 and Leighton ’29. He graduated from Eckerd College in 1999 with a B.A in Environmental Studies, Biology and continued his education at North Carolina State University and received his Master’s in Environmental Assessment in 2012 with a 4.0 GPA. Mr. Bristol is the Vice President & Principal Consultant at ETL2 Environmental Services, LLC. 

  • John Jordan ’90: Mr. Jordan graduated Hammond in 1990. He earned his degree in Economics from University of Georgia in 1995. Mr. Jordan began working at Cherokee, Inc. as a teenager and has now been deeply involved in all aspects of the company’s operations for over 30 years. He is now the President of Cherokee, Inc. in Columbia, SC.

  • Asheley St. John: Mrs. St. John is a current Skyhawk parent to Holston ’29. She graduated from Clemson University in 2002 with a B.A. in Design and furthered her education at Georgia Tech and received a Masters of Architecture in 2005. Mrs. St. John is the President and Architect at 1X1 Design in Columbia, SC.

  • Tripp Ulmer ’08: Mr. Ulmer graduated from Hammond in 2006 and is the current Skyhawk parent to Caroline ’34. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Nuclear and Radiological Engineering in 2012 and continued his education at Georgia Institute of Technology and received his Master of Science in Nuclear and Radiological Engineering in 2013. Furthermore, he received his MBA in Business Analytics, Strategy and Innovation from Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business in 2020. Mr. Ulmer is the Pathways Operations Manager at Amazon.

  • Ned Walker ’93: Mr. Walker graduated from Hammond in 1993. He graduated from University of South Carolina in 1998 with a B.S. in Engineering. Mr. Walker is a Senior Software Engineer of Control System Engineering at Harsco Rail.
