Tuition and Affordability

The value of a Hammond education has never been greater.

The value of a quality education that prepares students for success in college and beyond has never been higher, and likewise, the value of a Hammond diploma has never been greater. An independent school is a significant financial commitment, but it need not be cost prohibitive.  Our families find their investment pays great dividends as students move into college acceptances, merit scholarship offerings, and even graduate school.  We consider a Hammond education the gift of a lifetime.

Multiple payment plans, need-based financial aid, and merit-based scholarships keep our community accessible to talented students. We invite you to learn more about financial planning for your child’s success at Hammond.

Financial Aid

Hammond's financial aid program has a two-fold purpose:
  • To provide deserving students an opportunity for a high-quality education which might otherwise be unobtainable.
  • To ensure the school has a well-qualified student body reflecting a broad social and economic mix.
Intended to supplement family resources, awards are made to families whose ability to pay school costs is extremely limited, and also to those who may need only minor subsidy to meet tuition requirements. No worthy student should be deterred by financial reasons from making application to Hammond, and parents who require aid are encouraged to apply for a grant.  The Financial Aid Committee is mindful of the obligation to best utilize the limited financial aid funds responsibly and prudently, and does require an application be completed.
Financial aid is granted to families on the basis of demonstrated need through the use of School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS). SSS is used by more than 2,400 PK-12 schools and organizations throughout the U.S. to help assess a family’s ability to pay for independent education. In using SSS, Hammond follows the Principles of Good Practice outlined by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).
