Visual Art (Grades 5-8)
Introduces the elements and principles of art and how to apply them to a variety of materials and art processes. Worldwide art forms are introduced to foster a greater understanding of cultural diversity and visual aesthetics. Students explore creative solutions to challenges that have more than one possible answer and experience the development of a variety of contributions that are all equally valid.
Visual Art (Elective, Grades 9-12)
Builds upon the exploration of materials and processes as they relate to the elements and principles of design. Two-and three-dimensional art studies are sequenced so that a student may take visual art each semester as his or her interest and ability increases. Art exhibits are featured in the campus gallery and highlighted with an opening reception and/or assembly presentation.
