At Hammond, all of our programs including our private lesson offerings are committed to providing every family with an enjoyable and enriching program experience.  We strive for each of our offerings to provide a high quality program curriculum and instruction, designed to engage in authentic inquiries into major concepts and ideas of a field through critical, creative, and problem-based thinking and learning.

We invite your family to join us for our Session PLUS Program offerings, or spend some time with us in one of our day, evening, or weekend program offerings.  There is something for everyone!  If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

PLUS Programs

[Added Opportunities for Learning Enrichment]

What are Hammond PLUS Programs?  PLUS Programs are during the school day, afterschool, evening, and weekend programs for students and adults to develop skills and interests in a variety of areas. All of our programs offer participants an enjoyable and enriching experience in a physically safe, emotionally supportive, and fun-filled environment. Please note that PLUS Programs and Extended Day are separate programs.

Most of our PLUS Programs for students in PK – 6th grade operate on a trimester system with three sessions scheduled throughout the school year.  Days, times, and structure vary according to the PLUS Program.  However, we have some programs that are offered as a day only program, or for just one evening only, so these program offerings would only meet once.

PLUS Programs may be offered in small classes, private lessons, and can be held on or off campus. Most programs are offered weekly for 45 minutes each, while some programs may meet for different durations.  In addition to programs typically being offered afterschool and on school holidays, we now will be offering one-day only programs and weekend programs for students and adults.  Weekend offerings provide discovery, challenge, new connections, and more!  Please refer to the each program’s listing for times, days, and dates.

In addition, PLUS Programs provide students in high school and adults the opportunity to study and learn privately through our organized private lesson enrichment programs.  Participants of any level who enroll in one of these programs will have an opportunity to work one-on-one with a PLUS Program Instructor learning technique, theory, and repertoire in a fun, engaging and encouraging environment. Some private lesson offering’s are: fiction writing, independent literature studies, flute, voice, violin, piano, guitar, and trombone.

Program Enrollment

All of our PLUS Programs are available to Hammond students and their families, as well as members of the greater Columbia area. Participants do not need to be a current Hammond student or family member to enroll.  Registrations for PLUS programs are to be completed online for each offering.  In order to be successfully enrolled in a program, families must register and make full payment online prior to the registration deadline.  Please check the program offerings for registration deadlines.  Late registration for Session PLUS Programs that still have availability will be accepted for two weeks after the session begins.  However, families will be responsible for the full tuition, as late registrations are not prorated for missed classes.

Hammond reserves the right to cancel any program offering for which there is not sufficient enrollment. Enrollment for all PLUS programs will be on a “first-come, first-served” basis, so please be sure to register online as soon as registration becomes available for each program offering!  Please refer to the PLUS Programs Catalogs for a complete list of all of the program offerings, descriptions and tuition fees.

Session Programs

Session program enrollment is for a minimum of one Session and participants may not drop the program during a Session. Some Session programs will permit families to register for more than one Session at one time. In this case a full payment of one Session as well as for each additional Session will be due at time of registration.  Participants who are registered for additional Session’s are guaranteed a spot in the offering. A full payment for each Session is required prior to a participant attending a Session program.

Participants enrolled in a program that would like to continue in the same program for more than one Session, must register and submit full payment for an additional Session prior to the registration deadlines. Participants may not continue attending a program after the Session ends without registering and submitting full payment for the next Session.  If the participant is enrolled in a program and he/she would not like to continue after a Session has ended no action will be required. Upon registering a participant to attend a Session program, a commitment of only one Session is required.
