Welcome to Hawk Ridge Camp at Hammond! We're thrilled about all of the fun summer plans we have this year! Campers will have the exciting opportunity to engage in field trips across the state as well as fun, hands-on experiences on campus, while making friends and memories that will last a lifetime. They'll also participate in enrichment program twice a week, including cooking, tennis, theatre, and more!
We are committed to providing enriching, and memorable experiences while keeping the safety and development of your child our top priority. Hawk Ridge Camp
Hammond’s Hawk Ridge Camp is designed to provide campers from 3 years old to rising 6th graders with a summer full of fun, age-appropriate activities, and a variety of hands-on enrichment opportunities while building self-esteem through positive interactions. Campers are divided into three age groups: 3 – 4 years old, rising 5K – 1 grades, and rising 2 – 6 grades. Each camper will have the opportunity to experience a variety of field trips and field studies as well as music, theatre, art, sports, outdoor adventures, and much more! Camp activities are carefully organized according to age group, are planned in advance, and provide hands-on interactive learning in a stimulating and safe environment. This program is designed to provide an opportunity in which campers can have fun, learn, relax, thrive, smile, laugh, make new friends, and make great memories at Hammond!

Hawk Ridge Hours
- Full-Day Camp: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Half-Day Camp (two options available): 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM and 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- Extended Camp Program (two options available): 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM* and 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
*Hawk Ridge campers registered for 5 full-days of Hawk Ridge Camp may attend from 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM free of charge. Campers registered for half-day or daily (not the full week) Hawk Ridge Camp OR in one of our other summer programs may attend but will be charged an hourly rate of $9 for using this service.
Late Pick-Up Rate: Please note all campers must be picked up by 6:00 PM. A late fee of $25.00 per 15 minutes will be charged for pick up after 6:00 PM.
Campers may be dropped off early or picked up late with our Extended Camp Program option for an additional fee (refer to the Hammond Summer Programs Handbook for details).
Hawk Ridge Rates
Campers may register to attend Hawk Ridge for only one day or up to five days in one week.
- Full-Day Camp: $185 per week
- By the Day: $50 per day
- Half-Day Camp (9:00 AM – 1:00 PM or 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM): $100 per week
Campers registered for half-day camp who decide to stay after their pick-up time will be charged $10 an hour until 4:00 PM.
Each participant registered to attend Hawk Ridge Camp will receive one FREE 2017 Summer Programs t-shirt. Every camper attending Hawk Ridge Camp is required to own at least one 2017 Summer Programs t-shirt. However, it is recommended that each Hawk Ridge Camper own at least two Summer Programs t-shirts. Families may purchase 2017 Summer Programs t-shirts while supplies last. Campers are required to wear their Summer Programs t-shirt on days that a field trip is scheduled. Every Hawk Ridge Camper will also receive one FREE Summer Programs water bottle. Campers are encouraged to leave their water bottle at camp to ensure they have one each day. Each week families will receive electronic communication that will provide updates, activity plans, reminders, and information regarding the upcoming week of Hawk Ridge Camp events and activities. It is important for families to list an email address in their online registration account that is checked regularly. Please be sure to follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page as we will be posting pictures and short video clips of campers daily, as well as the latest updates, reminders, and important information.
Campers registered for half-day camp from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM will be escorted to carpool for pick-up at 1:00 PM. Campers registered for full-day camp but not registered to attend our After-Extended Camp Program beginning at 4:00 PM will be escorted to carpool for pick-up. Carpool for Hawk Ridge Campers is located in front of the Lower School Gym. Campers that have not been picked-up by 4:10 PM will be escorted to the After-Extended Camp Program and charged accordingly.
Hawk Ridge by the Week
Campers are invited to join us for just one week or for the entire eight weeks. The weeks do not need to be consecutive. Please remember that Hammond Summer Programs will be closed July 3 - 9, 2017.
Week 1: June 5 – 9 Adventureland
Who needs Disneyland? From camp theme parks to adventure races, enjoy all of the adventure your little heart's been waiting for as we dive into Adventureland week at Hawk Ridge Camp.
Week 2: June 12 – 16 Fun in the Sun
Join us for a sun-soaked week of picnics and popsicles as we enjoy fun, outdoor summer activities! Don't forget your sun block!
Week 3: June 19 – 23 Under the Sea
Mermaids, shells, fish, whales and sharks abound as we explore life under the sea through nature, craft projects, and MORE!
Week 4: June 26 – 30 Animal Planet
Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Explore the wild jungle as we engage in a week-long discovery of the Animal Kingdom.

Week 5: July 10 – 14 Around the World
Grab your passports as we travel around the world, visiting different cultures and countries through games, music, foods and crafts.
Week 6: July 17 – 21 Fit for Life
Put your best food forward! Campers will learn about fitness and nutrition by engaging in fun activities.
Week 7: July 24 – 28 Space is the Place
To infinity and beyond! Venture out into the galaxy as we explore the depths of outer space.
Week 8: July 31 – August 4 Rockin' Beach Party
No sand? No problem! Join us for a week of waterslides and swim suits as we rock out the last week of Hawk Ridge Camp with an unforgettable beach party!

WOW! Wednesday Activities
WOW! Wednesday activities are normally scheduled every Wednesday with all Hawk Ridge Campers from 3:30 PM – 4:00 PM unless otherwise indicated below.
June 7 – Store Time with a Special Guest: Campers will be all ears as they listen to a special guest storyteller.
June 14 – Bubles Here, There, and Everywhere!: Get ready to play in a sea of bubbles! Campers will enjoy an afternoon of bubbles to blow, pop, and play in.
June 21 – Let's Go Fishing!: Campers will fish for prizes in our very own prize pond!
June 28 – Sam the Dog Trainer: Campers will enjoy a visit from Sam the Dog Trainer and his furry friends.
July 12 – Chinese Fan Dancing: Campers will have the opportunity to learn about other cultures as they participate in Chinese Fan Dancing.
July 19 – Zumba!: Get ready to dance it out! Campers will sweat out their energy with an afternoon of Zumba.
July 26 – Glow in the Dark Fun!: Who turned out the lights? Campers will enjoy shining their lights with glow sticks and fun.
August 2 – Relax and Enjoy!: Enjoy an afternoon of sunshine and popsicles in Hawk Ridge Camp's last WOW! Wednesday.
FUN Friday Activities
June 9 – Carolina Pride Pastures: Our week of adventure will come to a close with a trip to Carolina Pride Pastures where campers will experience all the adventure the farm has to offer followed by strawberry picking.
June 16 – Friend Day at Saluda Shoals Splash Pad: Campers are encouraged to invite a friend to lunch and to join us for the afternoon for a fun time at Saluda Shoals Splash Pad. Friends must register through our online registration database to attend (cost is $20 per friend) and show arrive to Hammond at 12:00 PM. For lunch, we will enjoy every child's favorite food, pizza!
June 23 – Wetland Program at Saluda Shoals: Campers will discover the wonders of nature as they explore the Wetlands at Saluda Shoals with rangers and enthusiastic teachers.
June 30 – Riverbank Zoo: Campers will spend the day exploring and sightseeing the 2,000-plus animals that call Riverbanks Zoo their home.
July 14 – The Rockton, Rion, and Western Railroad: Campers will enjoy a train ride while engaging in a historical adventure in Winnsboro, SC.
July 21 – Palmetto Children's Hospital: Campers will have the opportunity to give back to the community by engaging in this very special community service project with Palmetto Children's Hospital. More details will be provided to families attending during the week of July 17-21.
July 28 – The Discovery Place: Campers will enjoy a day full of fun at The Discovery Place in Charlotte, NC where science is brought to life!
August 4 – Rockin' Beach Party: Campers will celebrate their time at Hawk Ridge, ending their summer of fun with a Rockin' Beach Party.
NOTE: The three and four year old campers will be going to the Saluda Shoals Splash Pad every Friday for their Fun Friday activity (except on July 21 when all groups will visit the Palmetto Children's Hospital together for our Community Service Project and August 4 when they will participate in the Rockin' Beach Party).
Each week campers will have the opportunity to participate in an already scheduled enrichment activity on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. Some of the enrichment activities are Kid Fit, Karate, Creative Kids, Cooking, Football, Hip Hop, and much more!
Hawk Ridge Activity Plans
Hawk Ridge Camp activity plans for each group will be provided to families registered to attend. Please note that activity plans may change at anytime. Families registered to attend will receive electronic communication one or two days prior to the start of camp to provide reminders, and any updates regarding the Hawk Ridge events and activities planned.
Caught in the Act
Dive into the fundamentals of theatre through creative play! Campers engage in games that inspire creative thinking, promote problem-solving, foster imaginative play, encourage teamwork, and build confidence in public performance. Families and friends are invited to attend both performances this summer free of charge! We do provide families and friends that are unable to attend these performances in person with the ability to watch it live, or later “On Demand” through Hammond’s HawkVision. Refer to the Hawk Ridge Camp Packet for more information about the theatre productions.
