Headmaster's Welcome
As you navigate your way through our school's
website, I hope you will gain a sense of what makes Hammond
School such a remarkable place. Hammond enrolls some 990 students
from pre-kindergarten to twelfth grade. The school seeks children
of a wide range of abilities who are willing to work hard
and contribute both in and outside the classroom. We want
our students to approach any problem of knowledge from multiple
perspectives, and our global curriculum prepares students
to achieve this. Along with foreign travel, we are committed
to experiential education and are cultivating a 75-acre swath
of wetlands that we plan to deploy for several classes.
Education has never been more prized than
it is today, and if this website raises more questions than
it answers it will have achieved the aim of liberal education.
