Summer Reading Lists
Reading widely and regularly is the best preparation students can make for success in school. Just as valuable is the access books give us to worlds we might not otherwise visit, leading to understanding of both others and ourselves.
To be maintained, reading skills must be practiced. To that end, Hammond requires a rigorous program of summer reading. For each grade a selection of books is listed. Along with the English and language arts faculty, we have chosen enjoyable books of high quality, books that are varied enough to please every taste.
We hope you will read every day and love these books as much as we do.
