Extended Day Program
Welcome!
Welcome to Hammond Extended Day! We are pleased to have the opportunity to serve your family. Extended Day is designed to be a true extension of the school day and provide more than just childcare; our program gives children the foundation they need to develop a lifetime love of learning in a fun, caring, and safe environment.
The Extended Day faculty and staff actively promote the physical, social, emotional, creative, and intellectual development of each child. During Extended Day, children will have the opportunity to engage in centers, take part in story time, play outside, and participate in many other diverse activities based on the child’s individual needs, interests, and abilities. Our daily activities are planned in advance and provide hands-on interactive learning in a stimulating and safe environment. The program is designed to provide a safe environment in which children can learn, relax, thrive and have fun. We strive to provide age-appropriate programs, with varied activities, while building self-esteem through positive interactions. Our program goes above and beyond to address other important aspects of a child’s education, such as character building, literacy, and fitness.

Extended Day Program Philosophy
Hammond Extended Day is committed to providing the highest quality childcare for students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 6th. The curriculum is developed by the program's staff and seeks to incorporate each child's age and developmental level, his or her individual needs, interests and the family's culture. The Extended Day faculty and staff strive to enhance and support each child's intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth and development in an environment that is safe and nurturing. The program works with school staff, families, and community resources to support the strengths and meet the needs of each child. We encourage children to explore the world around them and develop their interests and talents while nurturing their academic and interpersonal growth through hands-on, cross-grade and enrichment activities, field trips, and other fun and engaging experiences.
Extended Day Program Mission
The staff of Extended Day is committed to their mission: to provide the highest quality childcare for the students of Hammond by demonstrating enthusiasm, warmth, and respect for the children, their parents, and fellow colleagues within a safe, relaxed, and enriched environment.
