Hammond seeks to bring together a group of young and capable students who will benefit and grow from the challenging, but nurturing environment. The Admission Committee evaluates each student on the basis of a personal visit, admission testing, academic record, and teacher recommendations (Some requirements are grade appropriate). The committee also places a large emphasis on good character, emotional maturity, curiosity and intellectual ability. Hammond best serves those students who are prepared and motivated to meet the requirements of college preparatory environment.

Step 1: School Visit
Schedule a visit to Hammond by contacting the Office of Admission to meet with you at your convenience or attend one of our Open House Events listed on our calendar.
Step 2: Submit an application
Submit a completed application with the $75 application fee. Online Application
Step 3: Teacher recommendations and Transcripts (Grades Pre-Kindergarten - Grade 12)
Provide these forms to your child’s current teachers and principal, and guidance counselor (transcript) along with an envelope addressed to the Admission Department.

Step 4: Student Visitation/Assessment /Admission Testing
Applicants will be asked to visit the campus to spend part of a school morning (Pre-Kindergarten - 1st) or a full day with their age group (2nd - 5th). Hammond teachers will spend time with each candidate to observe cognitive, physical, and social development.
Students entering grades 6th - 12th can arrange for a visit by calling our offi ce for a time convenient to their schedule. We also ask applicants to submit their most recent test scores from one or more of the following tests: SSAT, PSAT, SAT, ACT, ERB, ISEE, Stanford, Iowa Test of Basic Skills, Otis-Lennon, or other offi cial state standardized test. Hammond reserves the right to require an applicant to take additional testing.
Assessment Middle and Upper School (Grades 5-12)
Hammond welcomes applicants to visit campus and attend classes throughout the school year. A visit can be scheduled by calling the Office of Admission.
Hammond requires all applicants for grades 6 and above to submit their most recent test scores from one or more of the following tests: SSAT, PSAT, SAT, ACT, ERB, ISEE, Stanford, Iowa Test of Basic Skills, Otis-Lennon, or other offi cial state standardized test. Hammond reserves the right to require an applicant to take additional testing. Hammond is recognized as a SSAT test site.
