Three Hammond Middle School students performed in the 2010 South Carolina Honor Choir on Saturday, February 6. Ivey Noojin (6), Sarah Adams (5) and Kiersten Chow (5) traveled to North Charleston for two days of rehearsal with 250 fourth, fifth and sixth graders from around the state. The students completed their recorded auditions in September and were selected from nearly 400 auditions submitted by 79 schools statewide. Guest clinician Dr. Maribeth Yoder-White said “this group was truly one of the most beautiful sounding choirs she has worked with…”
During the regular school day, each of the Hammond participants is a member of the 5th & 6th Grade choirs and the after-school group, Chorus 65. Both are directed by middle school faculty member, Eben Trobaugh.
