Alcohol and Drug Awareness and Education Programs Planned
Posted 12/18/2009 09:22AM

We are excited to announce that Jeff Wolfsberg, a nationally recognized expert in drug and alcohol education in schools, will return to Hammond January 5-8, 2010. He will be working closely with the Sophomore class and has scheduled several meetings with small groups during his stay.

We have planned an evening program on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at 7:00 pm in the Bank of America Theater. Please register at the following link: http://www.jeffwolfsberg.com/parents/hammond/. This program is open to parents of students from all divisions. It is never too early to learn about this very important issue. Feel free to invite friends from the community. We are very fortunate to have such an expert on our campus and are happy to share our time with him.

Also, we are excited that the officers from the Columbia Police Department announced an offering of the Alive@25 program on our campus. Below is the essential information for interested parents:

The Alive@25 Class for students in grades 8-12 will be offered on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, from 3:30-8:00pm in the Lecture Hall with a break for dinner. (Pizza will be provided free of charge.) The enrollment fee for the course is $35.00.  All registration and payment information can be located at www.scaliveat25.org.

These programs represent Hammond’s ongoing commitment to provide educational opportunities for parents and students related to current issues. We hope that your students can attend!
