The Enrichment classes provide an opportunity for students to develop skills and interests in a variety of areas. Enrollment in after-school Enrichment classes are offered to all Hammond students in grades Pre-K through 6th. The 2012-2013 Enrichment Class Registration Form is located under the Enrichment Program tab on the left. Please complete one Enrichment Class Registration Form per student. Enrichment classes will be offered to only Pre-K students from 2:00–2:45 PM each day. Pre-K students who do not participate in the Enrichment classes will remain in their Pre-K classroom until 3:00 PM. Please note that students enrolling in Enrichment classes must be registered in the Extended Day Program.
Enrollment for all Enrichment classes will be on a “first-come, first-served” basis, so please be sure to register early! Late registration for classes that still have availability will be accepted for two weeks after the registration deadline. However, families will be responsible for the full tuition as late registrations are not prorated for missed classes.

NOTE: Once a student is registered for a Session they will not need to register again. However, in order to drop and/or add Enrichment classes a Change of Schedule Form must only be completed prior to the specific dates listed below.
- If you would like to make any changes to your child’s Enrichment schedule for Session Two you must complete a Change of Schedule Form before: Monday, November 5, 2012.
- If you would like to make any changes to your child’s Enrichment schedule for Session Three you must complete a Change of Schedule Form before:Monday, February 18, 2013.
Change of Schedule
Enrichment Classes may only be dropped after the last class of each session; however you must complete a Change of Schedule Form prior to dropping and/or adding a class to your child’s Enrichment schedule. A Change of Schedule Form must be completed by the last week of each session prior to any changes to your child’s Enrichment classes. A Change of Schedule Form is available under the "Enrichment Program Forms" on the right.
Enrichment classes for the 2012-2013 school year begin the week of August 27, 2012. Class enrollment is for a minimum of one session and the class may be dropped after the session. Classes are usually held one day per week for 45 minutes. Three sessions of after school Enrichment classes are offered during the school year. Please see the Enrichment Calendar for specific session dates. There will not be Enrichment classes on days when the Lower School is closed or dismissed early. Enrichment classes that are scheduled on days when the Lower School is closed or dismissed early will not be made-up.
At the end of each class the Enrichment Class Instructor will ensure that the students staying in the Extended Day Program return to their designated area or classroom. The Enrichment Class Instructors teaching classes at the Lower School will escort the students that are not staying in the Extended Day Program to the Lower School Fitness Center to meet with the Director of Extended Day. Enrichment Class Instructors that are teaching classes at the Middle School will escort the students that are not staying in the Extended Day Program to their designated classroom or area to meet with a Middle School Extended Day staff member. Parents or other authorized adults of Lower School students are to pick up their child at the Lower School Fitness Center at the end of their child’s scheduled Enrichment Class. Parents or other authorized adults of Middle School students are to pick up their child from a designated classroom or area. Please note that in the event a student has not been picked up 10 minutes after their Enrichment class concludes they will be escorted to Extended Day and drop-in rates will apply.
The Director of Extended Day reserves the right to terminate the participation of any student in the Enrichment Program for continued disruptive behavior, or if the continued participation of the student would interfere with or disrupt the ability of the Enrichment staff to conduct or manage the activities of the program.
If your child is registered in an Enrichment class and will not be present, you must notify the Director of Extended Day before noon by email or calling his office to inform him of your child’s absence for that day. It is imperative that this procedure is followed so that we may ensure your child’s safety. Please note that students will not be able to make-up any missed Enrichment class(es).
Cancellation of Enrichment Classes
Hammond reserves the right to cancel any class for which there is not adequate enrollment. Hammond will cancel a class 1 week in advance if numbers are insufficient. If a class is canceled due to inadequate enrollment the Director of Extended Day will notify the families and issue any necessary refund.

Billing and Policies
The Business Office will bill families for Enrichment Programs after each registration deadline. Families will be responsible for paying the full tuition for each registered Enrichment Program. Enrichment classes that have supply and/or registration fees have been included into the class tuition fee. Non-payment of the full tuition for each registered Enrichment Program will result in termination of student’s participation in the Enrichment Program. Please note that the Study Hall classes will continue to be billed by the month. Any questions regarding tuition statements should be directed to the Business Office at 803.776.0295, ext. 1029.
Families will be charged the full tuition amount for each Enrichment Class their child is registered for regardless of their attendance.
There will not be any refunds issued for Enrichment Classes unless a class was canceled due to inadequate enrollment.
