More than 20 women participated in the SAIS self-defense class last week taught by Dr. Ed Carney. The women learned and practiced many moves that can be utilized to protect themselves from armed and unarmed attackers. Dr. Carney is a self-defense instructor of USC as well as the Richland County Sheriff's Office, and conference speaker for the Victim's Assistance Network.
