Future Headmaster Addresses Students and Faculty -
01/17/06
Students and faculty had the opportunity Tuesday to hear from Hammond's recently appointed Headmaster, Adam de Pencier. Mr. de Pencier traveled to South Carolina on Sunday the fifteenth for a four-day visit with the Hammond community. After spending time with staff over the extended weekend, de Pencier met bright and early with lower school students for their regular "Tuesday Talk" in the Edens Kiva. Then he proceeded to the upper and middle school assemblies in the Bank of America Theater where he enthusiastically spoke to students and faculty about the coming years.
"A Headmaster's job is to enable others to do theirs," said de Pencier, "and it is an honor to be given the opportunity to fulfill that role at Hammond."
Mr. de Pencier and his wife, Jane, will be welcomed to the Hammond community during a reception on Wednesday evening, January 18, at EdVenture in downtown Columbia.
