The Hammond School Class of 2007 graduated May 26 at First Presbyterian Church. Dr. David E. Shi, President of Furman University, delivered the commencement address.
The fifty-three members of the Class of 2007 distinguished themselves in a variety of ways:
87% earned college scholarships in excess of $3,000,000.00.
Sixteen percent were named South Carolina Palmetto Fellows, the state’s highest scholarship designation.
Two class members advanced to finalists in the National Merit and National Achievement Scholarship Competition.
Twenty-one percent were named Honor Graduates, having earned cumulative GPA's of 4.5 or higher.
Ten percent scored 1500 or above on the SAT. Nineteen percent earned scores of 1300 or above.
Ninety-four percent participated in the Advanced Placement Program with a total of 161 AP exams taken before completing their Hammond diploma.
Members of the class were accepted to fifty-eight colleges in eighteen states and the District of Columbia and will attend a twenty-seven colleges in twelve states and the District of Columbia. The following list represents the schools they will attend.
