Student is Second Runner Up in State Geography Bee - 4/19/07
David Tucker, an eighth grader at Hammond School, placed third in the SC state Geography Bee. The Bee, sponsored by the National Geographic Society, was held on March 30 at SCETV studios in Columbia. David bested ninety other school winners in a preliminary round that placed him in the finals for the top ten students. His admirable performance in the final round won the third place spot in the state.
David is the son of Nancy and David Tucker and the brother of Jack Tucker(5th Grade). SCETV will air the final competition on May 6th at 4PM. The entire Hammond Family is proud of David’s accomplishment.
