Hammond Actors Invited to 2008 Edinburgh Fringe Festival - 5/1/07
Hammond School Drama Teacher, Linda Khoury, announced recently that Upper School drama students have been awarded the opportunity to participate in the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The festival's selection process is overseen by the American High School Theater Festival, (AHSTF), which received over 1200 nominations this year for schools throughout the United States.
Hammond’s selection places the school’ s theatre program in the top echelon of schools in the United States, and our students will enjoy the opportunity to plan, ponder, and participate in the world’s largest arts festival.
The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is a uniquely exciting event. Every year for 3 weeks, Scotland's majestic capital is transformed into a magical, unpredictable, thrilling world. The city bursts at the seams, as Edinburgh Scotland becomes the largest stage in the world and every theatre, church hall, sports Centre , and pub plays host to it's own array of international performers. AHSTF is proud to create the platform upon which American schools can add to this excitement.
