Office of College Counseling Unveils New Web-site - 9/26/06
The Office of College Counseling is pleased to announce the launch its new College Counseling web-site beginning Monday, September 25, 2006.
This extensive resource is open to the public and can be accessed 24 hours, 7 days a week from the "Student Life" navigation menu throughout the Hammond School site as well as the related links section of the Upper School web page.
"The college search and application process can be a confusing and anxious time for students and parents. Tension runs high as deadlines and decisions approach at ever-increasing speeds." says René Bickley, Hammond School's Director of College Counseling. "One major difference between a successful search and an exasperating one is having access to the right information at the right time. It has long been our goal to provide that information...this(web-site) is an exciting new tool in the realization of that goal."
Hammond families are encouraged to visit the site often and take advantage of the college counseling resources offered. Although the college search process begins in earnest during the junior year, the site includes Year-by-Year planning calendars for ninth through twelfth grades as well as an abridged edition of the Hammond College Counseling Guidebook. Timely scholarship opportunities, recommended reading, college rep visit schedules, collegiate open house information, along with links to College Board, ACT, the Common Application, and more will be available.
