- Presbyterian College’s Board of Trustees recently
approved a proposal to create a new pharmacy school in
the Upstate. The new program will serve a total of 300
students and, pending accreditation, is expected to open

- The University
of Chicago recently highlighted its ten year
old Theater and Performance Studies program which is
setting a new standard for the integration of theory
and practice in the performing arts. Courses are taught
by some of the most exciting theater artists working
today. In addition the University of Chicago recently
announced its Odyssey Initiative which allows families
that earn less than $60,000 a year to avoid taking any
student loans and will cut the expected amount of loans
in half for families earning between $60,000 and $75,000.

Daughters of the American Revolution awards
multiple scholarships to students showing dedication

- The Holocaust Remembrance
Project is a national essay contest for
high school students designed to encourage and promote
the study of the Holocaust. Participation in this project
encourages students to think responsibly, be aware of
world conditions that undermine human dignity, and make
decisions that promote the respect and value inherent
in every person. Scholarships and other prizes are awarded
to students in first, second and third place categories.
First Place winners participate in an all-expense-paid
trip to Washington, D.C. to visit the U.S. Holocaust
Memorial Museum and other historic sites. In addition,
scholarships of up to $10,000 will be awarded to the
