Fairy Tale
Trials: Grades: Rising 6th and 7th

Led by Karen Shull, campers will discover a unique way to determine the
fine line between “doing wrong” and “crime,” by
engaging in cooperative teamwork to create a case to prosecute a fairy
tale character for committing crimes against his/her fairy tale counterparts.
Campers will work in cooperative teams to create a case, work as prosecution
and defense teams and deliberate and make decisions as a jury. The activities
challenge students as they use all language arts skills: critical reading,
analytical thinking and writing, speaking and drama.
Summer

trumpet, trombone, and baritone. At the end of the week, we will give a
concert to your family and friends. The instruments can be rented or purchased
and you will receive all that information once you have signed up for the

emphasis on writing will be to practice both the formal
and informal styles with reactions and 3.5 paragraphs
to the stories. One short creative writing assignment
will also be included. What a smart way to get a jump
start on English 7!

create your project. If you do not have a sewing machine, one will be provided
for your use. A supply list is available when you sign up for the class.

etc.) must be purchased in advance.

Lacrosse II: Grades:
Rising 9th- 12th
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Cost: $125
Led by Hammond’s lacrosse coach Jonathan
Patterson, this camp will focus on more advanced skills,
the fundamentals of team lacrosse, and in depth look
at positions. Campers are required to bring their own
lacrosse stick.
WEEK 3:
June 16 – 20
Girls Basketball
II: Grades: Rising 6th – 9th
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Cost: $125
Coach Charles MacAlister will provide outstanding instruction on the important
facets of the game from offense to defense to even in-bounds situations.
The fundamental skill work and competitions, such as hot-shot, one-on-one
and free throw contests, will be highlighted everyday. This clinic is designed
to encourage girls to have fun and to be confident on and off the court.
Week 4:
June 23 - 27
Soccer II: Grades:
Rising 6th- 12th
Time: 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Cost: $125
Coached by Varsity Boys’ Soccer Head Coach Adrian Pinasco, this camp
is designed for the aspiring soccer star to learn all the individual and
tactical skills needed to succeed. Players will learn defending principles,
attacking principles, speed and agility training, and goalkeeping instruction.
Girls Volleyball
II: Grades: Rising 7th – 12th Time: 1:00
p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Cost: $125
Directed by Columbia College’s Volleyball
Coach Brian Solomon, this clinic will be devoted to
powerful instruction on passing, setting, hitting,
serving and blocking. Campers should bring their own
knee pads.
Week 6:

Scrapbook: Grades: Rising 5th- Adult
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Did you see the gorgeous Football book at the Auction? Ever dreamed of
creating a coffee table quality book of your memories to share with family
and friends? This is your chance find out what inspires you! Learn to create
a Digital Scrapbook. Digital Scrapbooking, or computer scrapbooking, is
a fairly new form of scrapbooking which involves the use of a computer
and graphics software to create visual layouts for the purpose of preserving
a memory. Tori Morris, will take you step by step through the creation
process. Bring a CD or Flash drive with your pictures to camp. Together
you will create an online account and at the end of camp you will be able
to order a printed book of your memories. Create one today for yourself
or as a gift. You’ll love looking back on special moments.

SAT PREP: Grades:
Rising 10th – 12th Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Cost:

Directed by Upper School Math teacher Katherine Muller,
this week-long course will attempt to increase your
verbal and mathematical skills for
standardized test-taking. Students will focus on analogies, reading comprehension,
writing mechanics, quantitative analysis and more.
Babysitting
and First Aid: Grades: Rising 5th through
9th Grade (Must be 11 to receive Red Cross certification)
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Cost: $125 Fee

Hammond School Nurse Karen Lobitz, RN, CPN,
will lead a week long class in safety, first aid, and
Red Cross babysitting training. Designed for 11- to
15-year olds, the Babysitter’s training course
will give you everything you need to know and what
every parent expects in a responsible babysitter! Completion
of the camp will provide the campers with Red Cross
certification and life long safety skills.
